Greetings. After a 20-year absence, Uganda finally made a return to the Enterprise Cup. In a 13:00 kick-off in Nakuru, Rasul Abiriga scored Uganda's first points in the Enterprise Cup since Anthony Kinene's penalty for Kampala RFC in 2006. KOBs lost 13-29 to Nondies, who are currently seated in the bottom-half of the Kenya Cup log and were only promoted from the Kenya Cup Championship to the Premiership in 2023. In the 14:00 kick-off at Wankulukuku, Heathens conceded 10 tries against defending Enterprise and Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar RFC, bowing out 16-61 at Wankulukuku. Regional rugby debutants Buffaloes kicked off at 15:00 in Nakuru against Menengai Oilers, runners up in the 2025 Enterprise Cup. Buffaloes were the only Ugandan side not to score a try, as Yasin Waiswa converted 5/6 penalties to give a respectable 15-60 scoreline.
In the final game of the day, defending Premiership champions, Pirates played 5-time Enterprise Cup champions, KCB Lions. Pirates edged the thriller, 11-10 despite conceding 2 tries to Jeremiah Okello's sole try for Pirates. Pirates become the first Ugandan side to make the Enterprise Cup semi-final since Kampala RFC in 1996.

In getting Uganda's only win of the day, Pirates had to survive the barrage of carries from their opponents. Considering the first half, KCB opened with a double-pronged carry from Elvis Olukusi and Andy-Cole Omolo that drove them from their Own 22 to the border of the Pirates 22. By the 46th second of the game-clock, KCB had entered the Pirates 22m area.
The return on ground gained per carry is the major difference between our ball carrying and that of the Kenyans. KCB had 42.5% of their carries yielding gainline success in the first half, compared to 20.83% for Pirates in the same half. There was a higher gainline success on carries in the Opponent's Half and Opponent's 22m areas, where the team was aggressively pursuing a scoring opportunity.

Chasing History
🌟The Rugby Premiership returns for 1 week of play before the Easter break and Enterprise Cup semifinals. Uganda rugby has not had alternating club tournaments, where clubs switch from one to another since the early 2000s. In the early years of the Uganda Cup, clubs would play back-to-back weeks in the Premiership before a Uganda Cup knock-out fixture, and then dive back into the Premiership. The Uganda Cup was first assigned its separate window in the 2001 and 2002 seasons, where it was played after the conclusion of the Rugby Premiership.
🌟KOBs host Heathens in Week 7 of the Rugby Premiership, after both teams were eliminated at the quarterfinal stage of the Enterprise Cup. KOBs have not lost to Heathens since the 2024 Semifinal first leg; winning the second leg and drawing in last year's meeting, both games played at Kyadondo Rugby Club.
🌟Pirates travel to Kyadondo for a third time this season to face off against Victoria Sharks. Pirates have won 4 of their last 7 games played at Kyadondo, dating back to 2023.
🌟Buffaloes host last-placed Warriors, hoping to continue their winning streak currently at 4 games.
🌟The Central Uganda Rugby Association (CURA) Championship reaches the end of its regular season, with the top two teams, Rams and Eagles facing off in the 16:00 kick-off at Kitante Primary School Grounds. Rams last played in the Premiership in 2024, winning only once (against Eagles) in the regular season before getting relegated after a playoff meeting with Warriors. They were the only non-Premiership side to make the quarterfinals at the 2025 Uganda Cup. Eagles featured in two Premiership seasons (2024 and 2025) before getting relegated. The last meeting between the two was in the 2024 Premiership, Rams winning the Week 9 encounter at Kitante Grounds, 16-12.
🌟In the Central Schools Final, Namilyango make a third consecutive appearance in the final, having won the title in 2024 before losing to Budo in last year's final. Makerere College School on the other hand are making their second ever final, the first since 2018, when they lost to Namilyango 03-05. Both teams are undefeated, with each team winning all 3 group games and both semifinal legs.
