The Black Pearls continued their perfect start to the season, with a 39-14 win over Thunderbirds at Kyadondo Rugby Club over the weekend.
Despite spending a huge portion of their time on defense, the Black Pearls were efficient with their possessions. They made 7 tries from their 9 visits to the Thunderbirds' 22, including 2 tries from the first 2 visits in the first half. Emily Lekuru touched down 5 times, the first 5-try haul of the season, and took her season tally to 11. She's the first player to cross the 10-try mark this season, for both the men and women's tournaments. Player of the match Mary Nakato powered over with 2 brilliant tries in the victory.
In the other games, Avengers recorded their first win of the season against She Wolves in Mbale while the Ewes emerged victorious against the Panthers.
