Jinja Hippos recorded their first win against Heathens in topflight 15s play. Heathens had averaged 25.8 points in their last 5 games against Hippos but ended up with 22 points on Saturday. On the other hand, Hippos scored 38 points, despite having averaged only 11.4 points in the 5 previous meetings against Heathens.
In scrum play, Heathens retained possession on all 7 of their scrum feeds. Hippos on the other hand, lost possession on one of their 11 scrum feeds after conceding a scrum penalty. Heathens dominated the lineouts, as Sylvestre Munguacel found a teammate on 9 of his 10 throws (90%) compared to Paul Siringiti's 3/6 (50%) success rate after conceding 3 steals in the second half. Simon Olet was the primary target on 8 of Heathens throws and he successfully caught the ball each time (100%).
Both kickers performed above their expectations, as Yasin Wasswa and Chris Lubanga made a combined 9/11 attempts at goal.
Pirates led for over 64 minutes in their game against KOBs, but still suffered their first defeat of the season. KOBs combined lead time during the game totaled 6 minutes.
Kicking for goal played a significant role in the outcome. Joseph Aredo and William Nkore made 11 of their 13 attemots at goal, and Josiah Ssempeke stepped up to slot this season's sixth drop goal to secure the win for KOBs.
Rhinos scored 8 tries past Elgon Wolves for their second winning bonus point of the campaign. Rhinos led for a combined 69 minutes, with their biggest lead standing at 42 points in the final minutes of the game.
Ivan Kirabo converted 6 of 8 conversions for 15 points (from an xP-lite of 13.58). Hamissi Katumba also made 2/2 attempts at goal to record 5 points in the game and take his season tally to 28 points.
Buffaloes took an 18-00 lead in the 13th minute, before Victoria Sharks rallied back to outscore Buffaloes 21-03 in the rest of the game and secure a draw.
Liam Walker had a better kicking average, scoring 4 of his 6 attempts at goal for 11 points on the day. With the same number of points, Israel Makhoha had a 57% success rate.
Mongers scored 4 tries past Eagles for a 35-12 result on Saturday. By comparison, last year's fixture ended 30-20 in favour of Mongers.
Robin Odrua scored Mongers first 21 points of the game, through 2 tries, a conversion and 3 penalty goals. He ended the day with 15 points off the boot, a gain of 1.03 on his expected points of the day. Jason Nuwamanya slotted 4/5 penalties to score all Eagles' points on the day.
Walukuba dominated their encounter against Warriors, scoring 7 tries to 1. Edward Emiemu gave the home side the lead in the 05th minute and they led for the remainder of the game, including a 30-point gap in the last 3 minutes of the game. Both teams scored more points than they did in their meeting last year.
Gift Wokorach slotted 3 of his 5 attempts at goal while Shakim Sembusi missed both attempts at goal. Hamza Kinyai had a 2/3 success rate at goal.
